Payson wasn't a huge fan of being a "lap baby" (and neither was Mommy). Luckily we had a row to ourselves from Dallas to San Juan and my little traveler did great (and Mommy's sanity was restored)!

We were lucky to have lots of family and friends in town to support Nick. Chris almost hurt herself jumping up and down but it sure helped Nick spot us as he taxied on by! Everyone had a blast watching the show and we're all so proud of you Nick!!! Perhaps today I'll take some actual photos of the show! ;)

Daddy's First Air Show!

Nick's first official Air show at Luke AFB yesterday was fantastic. Payson had a blast yelling "Plane! Plane!!!" over and over. He also pointed and yelled "Daddy!" at the guys during the start of the show....too cute!! Nick and the team did a fantastic job!

He did pretty well keeping his ear and eye protection on but eventually he was done with wearing them. Now, we just need to work on keeping a hat on for more than a nanosecond....

Sleepy Swinger

First of all, no, he's not swinging over water! I'm not that bad of a mom. Payson absolutely loves swinging and this day it pretty much put him to sleep! His head just kept sinking lower and lower...so funny!

Turning 1!!!

Payson turned 1 on November, 11 2010 and was lucky enough to have Nana, Bapa and his cousin Colton in town to help him celebrate! We had a fabulous night and are amazed we've been able to keep a baby relatively taken care of for a whole year!!!!

First Airshow!

Little Dude experienced his first air show at the close of the Thunderbirds 2010 season at Nellis AFB's Aviation Nation in November. He was absolutely GLUED to the planes and now his favorite word (besides "Please!") is "PeeAne"! Sooo cute!

We had our official welcome to the Thunderbirds on Tues. Nov. 2nd. All I can say is it feels C-R-A-Z-Y to be here....I can't imagine what Nick must be feeling! I am so proud of him!!!!!

I am a terrible mother...I didn't get Payson a Halloween costume for his first ever Halloween! I am awaiting the scolding that is coming my way.....in my defense though, he doesn't even know what Halloween is yet so...c'mon, really?!?!

Since I was feeling guilty (and Zoey REALLY doesn't dig wearing her costume anyway) Payson got to share her pumpkin suit! He had a blast (just look at that grin!), we worked on "sharing" AND I didn't spend a dime! Win -win!

First Haircut!

Back in mid-September we decided to give Payson his first haircut. Total hackjob by his parents with the clippers. Perhaps I should have reminded myself of my wonderful self-haircut in Kindergarten and spared my son by taking him to a salon. Oh well, we have plenty more years ahead of us, I can be a cheapskate for a little while longer....

Playing Catch Up

Once again I find myself having gone 4+ months with no blog posts. I apologize, I am terrible at this sort of thing. However, I have scheduled some upcoming posts so that we can get you all caught up! So, keep checking, I promise there will be at least a few new posts in the coming weeks!

In the meantime, here are my most recent snapshots of the little guy. I think he's figured out that the camera = cheesey time so I'm getting some big smiles, hugs and even kisses when I try to take his picture now. Too cute!

I love that Payson will now sometimes give me a hug when I ask for one! So neat to see things "click" in that little mind!

So does that make Payson a ThunderBaby or BabyBird or??? Either way, we are super excited about this next adventure and we will be moving to Nellis AFB (Northwest of Las Vegas) in October!

I Heart San Diego!

We absolutely love to get away to San Diego when a long weekend permits. This time the winds finally cooperated (I think this was my 4th or 5th try) and I was able to go paragliding! It was awesome and I even flew over to Torrey Pines and said hi to Nick while he was golfing! No kidding! He was on hole 4 along the ocean cliffs and I was able to fly by and have a chat with him! It was a unforgettable experience and I highly recommend it to anyone visiting the San Diego area!
